Announcing plans for Windows 10 and Nextgen Reader v6.4.0.24
Windows 10 is a major operating system update for developers. Here at Next Matters, we're very excited about Windows 10 and couldn't wait until #Build2015 to announce our plans.
So what's next for Nextgen Reader?
One of our biggest updates to date. That's right. We've been lucky that the Windows Phone community has supported us tremendously from the beginning, and our love has only grown.
We are now building a product not just for ourselves, but for the community, as we continue to receive new ideas and suggestions from users every day via email, Twitter and Facebook. And since many of you have been using the Windows 10 technical preview, we look forward to your participation and feedback in the #nextgen beta program (more details coming soon).
The two main areas of focus for Nextgen Reader on Windows 10 will be design and features. Bringing the two versions closer together, with a common experience and scenarios, and further aligning with the new design approach. We know that many of you (especially WP fans) are very critical of the new design in the Win10 Technical Previews, but don't worry, we will take a careful approach to the implementation of the hamburger button in Nextgen Reader. However, we definitely think that adding the hamburger control to the sdk will turn out to be a big win for the Windows app store, as many developers want to aesthetically combine their apps across platforms (consider shopping and banking apps across platforms and so on).
So without further ado, please jump to comments and let us know what features do you want to see in Nextgen Reader for Windows 10.
What’s new in Nextgen Reader v6.4.0.24
We have recently updated our new mobile and replaced Bitly with Google Url Shortener due to API limitations. However, as requested by some of you, we have implemented the option to use your own custom key for Bitly.
The following steps should be followed
Create a new Bitly account.
Follow the instructions at https://bitly.com/a/oauth_apps.
Click on the "Generate Form" button to create a generic Access form.
Go to "App Settings" -> "about" and type the following in cmd (without quotes): "enable bitly {access_token}".
Replace "{access_token}" with the key you created yourself.
To disable it, type the following in cmd (without quotes): "disable bitly
